About Jess

Honey Fox Films was founded in 2017 with a simple, enduring intention: to create films that preserve what is fleeting and honor the people and stories that shape a life.

Since then, Honey Fox Films has documented hundreds of weddings, each one approached with the same discretion and emotional attentiveness that the story deserves. At its core, Honey Fox Films is not simply about being filmed. It is about being seen, understood, and remembered.

A Filmmaker Drawn to Memory, Movement, and Human Connection

With a background in ballet and psychology, I approach wedding filmmaking through both an artistic and human lens.

Years of ballet cultivated an intuitive sense of rhythm, composition, and presence in me. An ability to observe movement, anticipate emotion, and understand how moments naturally unfold. I am passionate about the creative process, and this interest bleeds into my work as a videographer

My academic foundation in psychology further deepened my interests, specifically with relationships, family dynamics, and subtle emotional exchanges that often go unnoticed.

This combination of repertoires informs my filmmaking style, allowing me to choreograph cherished moments instinctively with music and bring emotional intelligence to every wedding event.

Why Memory Is at the Heart of Every Film

Memory is inherently fleeting.

Wedding days, in particular, hold a rare convergence of stories where two individuals, their histories, their families, and the communities that raised them, all gathered in one place to witness a new chapter begin.

Honey Fox Films exists to preserve that convergence. These films are created as heirlooms: records of love and lineage that future generations can return to to understand where they came from and the people who came before them.

This devotion to documentation is deeply personal. From a young age, I have been drawn to journaling, photography, and learning about my family’s history. I was born with a natural instinct to record, reflect, and preserve. Wedding filmmaking has simply became a natural extension of that lifelong inclination.

Timeless Mediums

Each Honey Fox Film blends digital cinematography with Super 8 film and camcorder footage to create a layered, tactile viewing experience.

Super 8 is chosen intentionally for its atmosphere and emotional texture. Without perfect clarity or predictability, it invites viewers to focus on essence rather than perfection — the feeling of a moment rather than just its appearance.

Camcorders hold a particularly nostalgic significance. Inspired by my own cherished family home videos, this element invites wedding guests and loved ones to record messages and perspectives of the day in their own voices.

“We worked with her for our wedding in Virginia and Jessica made it feel all the more special with her cheerful and supportive presence. She was there to take our wedding video but she honestly felt more like a friend.”
